How Hot Summer in Nepal

Nepal experiences a wide range of temperatures depending on the region and altitude. In the summer months, which typically run from the end of May to the beginning of September, the temperatures in Nepal can vary significantly.  In the lower regions of Nepal, particularly in the Terai region which is the southernmost part of the country, temperatures can get quite hot and humid during the summer. Daytime temperatures in the Terai can often exceed 35°C  and sometimes even reach up to 40°C . In the mid-hill regions, including popular tourist destinations like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Nagarkot, temperatures are generally milder compared to the Terai but can still get quite warm during the peak of summer. Daytime temperatures in these areas typically range from 25°C to 30°C during the summer months.

In high-altitude regions, such as the Himalayan mountains, temperatures are cooler even during the summer months. However, it's essential to note that weather in mountainous areas can be highly variable and unpredictable, with temperatures fluctuating depending on factors like altitude, time of day, and weather patterns.

Overall, while Nepal can experience hot temperatures in the summer, particularly in the Terai region, cooler weather can often be found in higher elevations, making it possible to escape the heat by visiting mountainous areas.
