Weather or season makes travel fun and beautiful. Nepal has four seasons. Among them, autumn and spring is the perfect season to visit. However, you can travel the whole year.

We have two Best Seasons for Trekking in Nepal. However, we can trek all season. The trick to choosing when to start a trek is striking a balance between the period of best weather when you want to trek and your holidays. Trekking in Nepal is logistically as easy as it gets but it still requires some planning with collaboration with the experts.

September to December:

The Autumn is first best season for trekking in Nepal. In this season weather and temperature are perfect, neither cold and freezing nor hot and wet. The green hilly region, high snowcapped mountains, crystal clear blue skies, local activities, terrace fields full of crops, and festivals are attractions of this season. High mountain valleys are still full of green lush shrubs and flowers. A bit chilly in the morning and evening and hot during the day is perfect for trekking weather in the Himalayas. Weather is predictable, reliable, and comfortable. The perfect time for lifetime experiences. Are you not believing? Just visit once and you will say Once Is Not Enough.

March To May:

It’s a spring season. This is the second most popular season for trekking. The weather is mostly clear and predictable. Visibility in the mountains is perfect. It’s hot and dusty in May however mountain is cool, clear, and chilly.  In the beginning of March still have a lot of snow at Trekking trials. However, the climate starts to get warmer. Nepal’s national flower Rhododendrons, mustard field, and green terrace field are the attraction of trekking. The perfect trek depends on the weather. There is no other perfect season other than the spring.

January to February

These are good months for trekking but cold can be bitter and dangerous at the high altitudes. It is very possible to trek in the lower regions where the temperature is not beyond zero for example Poonhill trek, Panchase trek, and Millinium trek. Getting up to Annapurna Base camp, Mardi Himal trek, Mustang trek, Manang trekLangtang Valley trek, and even the Everest base camp trek is fine however, if the weather conditions are bad there is a high risk of avalanches (some parts of trekking). Some treks and high passes might closed due the critical weather conditions. Otherwise, popular trekking routes are always open. Trekking in winter in the high Himalayas is adventurous and challenging but the beauty is worth all of it. Trekkers often choose short and low-altitude treks in the winter season.

June to August:

This is known as the monsoon season in Nepal. It means rain every day. This brings landslides, trials are slippery and full of leeches. Ragging rivers and streams often sweep away the trials and bridges. Trekking is difficult in front Himalayan region. However, still possible to trek in trans-Himalaya regions. The trans-Himalaya region also known as the rain-shadow region is located beyond the main Himalaya range. This is known as the Tibetian Plateau. This region has very little rain, and chill weather, people are active, planting and harvesting, and greenery is everywhere.  Mustang and  Annapurna Circuit Trek,  are very popular in this season.

Nepal is open for trekking in every season. And you can do a trek in all seasons at your convenient time.
