Trekking Equipment or Gear

This trekking packing list gives you an idea of what to pack during trekking in Nepal.

Packing is the most hassle and confusing when we travel. Perfect packing for the trekking is very difficult. In my experience, some client brings more and some brings less. And we also need to prepare for emergencies and adverse situations. There is various factor that makes packing difficult such as adverse weather, seasons, emergency, trekking grade (easy, medium, and hard), period, geographical terrain, etc. So it is hard to predict and assume without knowing the real situation or consulting the expert on the trek you choose.

Trekking in Nepal is a porter-guide-supported tea house Trek. Two clients share one porter or as client preferences. Lodging and food are provided at hotels, guesthouses, lodges, and homestays. Hence we needed to pack our things which were only needed for trekking. The main luggage is carried by a porter. You only need your daily stuff. We hearty request to pack your things in a waterproof pouch and repack them in your main luggage. We would like to recommend that you bring your own Daypack Bag which is carried by you. In the daypack bag, you can pack the stuff that you need during the daytime and important items such as money, important documents, water bottle/bladder, camera, toiletries, sunscreen, notebook, etc.

The weight limit for the porter is 20 kg 10 kg for each client. So, we recommend you pack as carefully as you can and not exceed the weight limit. You can leave your non-trekking stuff in the Kathmandu and Pokhara hotels or offices at Pokhara.
