Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a spectacular short trek with a huge variety of terrain, from rice terraces to glacial moraine. Annapurna Base Camp Trek also known as Annapurna Sanctuary trekking. It offers outstanding High Mountain views of Annapurna I(8091m),  Tent Peak(5695m), Glacier Dome(7193m), Gangapurna (7455m), Annapurna III (7555m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Hiuchuli (6444m) & Annapurna south (7219m) along with 360 degree view in the valley. Annapurna Basecamp has a fine close-up Mountain View without acclimatization day. The maximum elevation of this trek is 4130m from the sea level.

Today is the first day of the trekking. We start our trek in the morning after your breakfast. You will be a 3-hour drive from Pokhara to Samrung in our private vehicle. We start our trek from Samrung to the Jhinu Danda/Chomrung. Jhinu Danda is 15 min far from Samrung. In Jhinu Danda there is natural HOT SPRING. After some rest, we can enjoy the hot spring which is nearly 30 minutes away from our guest house. If you plan to climb up to Chomrung it will take an extra 1:30 min from Jhinudanda. It is uphill but it is worth climbing. Chomrung is a unique Gurung village and the best viewpoint of the trek from where you can see Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhepuchhre.

Note that: It is also possible to start trek direct from Kathmandu as well. You can take a morning flight from Kathmandu, Pack your backpack at our office or hotel, and start the trekking.

Jhinu danda/ Chhomrung to Dovan (2500m)

After breakfast, we will start our trekking. If you stay at Chomrung then it takes about 5 hours and if you stay at Jhinudanda it will take 6:30 min. Today’s trail is ups and down, however, as soon as we cross Sinuwa the trail will be easier. After walking for about 2 hours we will be at Bamboo, where we will have a short break.

Our trekking starts after breakfast in the morning. It will take about 4 hours. From Dovan the trekking trails gradually climbs up through lush forests with several waterfalls and religious shrines. In the morning weather is a bit chill however daytime is warm again. After walking 2 hours we will arrive at the Himalaya Hotel where we will have a short tea break and continue our trek to Daurali.

Today I recommend starting our trekking a bit early in the morning right after breakfast. It takes about 5 hours to arrive at Annapurna Base Camp. The weather in Annapurna Base Camp is clear in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon. The trekking trails climb up gradually and the view is stunning. You will be blessed by the close-up and 360-degree mountain view around your head. Locals consider Annapurna Sanctuary as the home of god and a holy place.

In the morning we will wake up early in the morning for the panoramic view with an excellent golden sunrise in Mt. Annapurna South and Mt. Annapurna I. After finishing sightseeing and the picturesque moment we will have breakfast and back to the Sinuwa following the same trials.

When to Trek Annapurna Base Camp And Weather

It is possible to trek at Annapurna Basecamp for a whole year. However good weather is always worth it. Autumn and Spring season are the best seasons for trekking and traveling in Nepal. You will be blessed with a spectacular Mountain View every day. Annapurna is an easy to medium-difficult trek. This trek does not have high passes and difficult terrain. But always need to be careful when trekking at Annapurna Basecamp.

 Autumn is the perfect season for everyone to trek in Annapurna Basecamp. The weather is nice and predictable, neither rainy/snowy nor freezing. The view is always great. Many trekkers visit at Annapurna Basecamp at this season.

Spring is another good season. Temperature getting warmer, the snow is about to melt and Mountain View is excellent.  In recent days winter and summer have also opened for trekking in this region.

Winter is mostly covered by snow and temperature goes freezing up to -10 degree Celsius. However, the view is perfect and stunning. And Summer is mostly covered by clouds, rain, full of alpine flowers, bushes, and greenery.

Equipments

What to Pack



This is a porter-supported tea house Trek. Two clients share one porter. We will supply you with a Trekking Duffel Bag which is carried by the porter. We would like to recommend that you bring your own Daypack Bag which is carried by you. In the daypack bag, you can pack the stuff which you need during the daytime such as money, important documents, water bottle/bladder, camera, toiletries, sunscreen, notebook, etc.

The weight limit for the porter is 20 kg 10 kg for each client. So, we recommend you pack as carefully as you can and not exceed the weight limit. You can leave your non-trekking stuff in the Kathmandu and Pokhara hotels or offices at Pokhara.

How long does it take to trek to Annapurna Base camp?

If you go direct to Annapurna Basecamp it will take 6 days (4 days going up and 2 days coming down) from Pokhara. However, if you take round trip like from Poonhill or Dhampus Ghandruk then it take few more extra days.

How difficult is the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is consider as easy to Medium diffuculty trek. It have few hours of steep climbing in Chhomrung , Sinuwa. In Overall the trails climb gradually up. Slow and continuous climbing help you to conquer the Basecamp.  Annapurna Base camp Trek for everyone i.e. for beginners, for family and for the people age of 60s as well

What is cost of Annapuna Base Camp Trek?
